Dove Hunting in Donna, TX
This is home. Our managed sunflower fields sit in the Mercedes and Donna area — you're hunting the ground we scout all year.
Mac's Dove Hunts runs action packed dove hunts on managed agricultural fields a short drive from Donna, TX (Hidalgo County). We hunt white-winged and mourning dove during the Texas South Zone season, which opens September 1, 2026, with morning and evening hunts for groups, families, and first-time hunters. To book, see Book a Hunt or call (956) 330-9537.
Donna is the center of our operation. The 500-plus acres of managed sunflower and sorghum we hunt sit in the Mercedes and Donna area, which means Donna hunters aren't driving to the birds — the birds are already here. This is the ground we plant, scout, and rest all year so the flights stay consistent from the September opener through the end of the first segment.
Sitting on US-83 in the middle of Hidalgo County's farm belt, Donna has the exact combination that concentrates white-winged dove: irrigated row crops for feed, mature citrus and mesquite for roosting, and canal systems for water. Birds move between all three every morning and evening, and our fields sit on those flight lines.
